MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Federal prosecutors and a 70-year-old former developer in Jackson County have made a plea bargain over accusations he funneled medical marijuana into the black market.

The Medford Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/VDyByU ) that court documents show Michael Reed Peru has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges, and the plea was accepted Tuesday in federal court.

Peru was arrested earlier this year with five other men. A federal affidavit says they were growing at least 4,000 pounds of excess marijuana at medical gardens in Medford and Central Point last year.

He wasn't immediately sentenced.
