COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 50-year-old woman was the shooter in a murder-suicide of a couple in central Ohio.
Columbus police report that it happened Monday night. They got a call from a person who said he could see his parents inside their residence, and he could see his father on the floor bleeding.
Officers who responded to the home on the city's northeast side heard a gunshot inside. They say Erica Smith-Penick shot 50-year-old Anthony Penick and then turned the gun on herself when police arrived.
Both were dead at the scene. Police are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.
