OHIO'S CUYAHOGA OVERFLOWS FROM SANDY RAIN - Rain from Sandy sent the Cuyahoga River over its banks, flooding areas near Cleveland. Strong winds knocked down trees and thousands lost power. See Regional - East.

NJ GOVERNOR TOURS DEVASTATION - New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has described the level of devastation along the Jersey shore following the superstorm as 'unthinkable'. Christie toured the storm's damage by helicopter. See Regional - East.

Planning On Covering

NEW YORK'S COMEBACK - With the subway still closed down and power outages still an issue, New Yorkers struggle to get back to normal after Sandy.

REBUILDING THE JERSEY SHORE - Sandy made landfall in New Jersey, leaving devastation in its wake. With rail lines under water, people stranded from flooding and power outages, New Jersey has much still to overcome.

BREEZY POINT - After being hit hard by the superstorm, a fire destroyed 80 to 100 homes in the Queens neighborhood of Breezy Point.

CAMPAIGN - President Obama travels to New Jersey to tour the devastation left in the wake of Sandy. Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will attend multiple campaign events in Florida.

AL, ANIMAL SHELTERS 'SPOOKED' BY HALLOWEEN - Some animal shelters in Alabama said they aren't offering black cats for adoption this week, despite a growing view among protection groups that the threat of abuse during Halloween is an urban legend.

FL, CHALK ART FESTIVAL - Hundreds of artists from around the world have descended on Sarasota, Florida next week for the annual Chalk Art Festival.

GA, CDC MENINGITIS UPDATE - The CDC gives the AP an update on the fungal meningitis outbreak that has had widespread impacts throughout the country.

AZ, BEES ATTACK HIKERS; 1 DEAD, 2 HURT - Two hikers were rescued from the Arizona desert after bees attacked them. A third man died after falling 150 feet during the attack.

FACE-SLAPPING TO IMPROVE APPEARANCE - An ancient Thai art, billed as a non-surgical, alternative way to firm and tone facial muscles, is being offered to people in Bangkok. Customers can undergo four sessions of face slapping.

CLINTON AND EU CHIEF TALK SERBIA - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined the European Union's foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, in Kosovo in seeking to advance talks between Serbia and its former province so both can one day join the 27-nation EU.

AFGHAN ELECTIONS WILL GO AHEAD IN 2014 - Presidential elections considered crucial to Afghanistan's security and stability will be held on schedule in April 2014, the country's election commission announced.

CHOCOLATE DRESSES IN PARIS FASHION SHOW - the 18th annual 'Salon du Chocolat' show was launched in Paris, kicking off with a chocolate dress fashion show.

DISNEY BUYS LUCASFILM, MORE STAR WARS COMING - The Walt Disney Co. announced that it bought Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion. The deal gives Disney the rights to the Star Wars franchise. Disney is vowing to make at least three more Star Wars movies.

AFI BOASTS 'HITCHCOCK,' 'LINCOLN' PREMIERES - The AP gets a first look at offering of the annual AFI Fest, including world premieres of 'Hitchcock' and 'Lincoln.'

INDIA UNEMPLOYEMENT - India's population of more than a billion people is expected to overtake China by around 2030. But what makes India's growth unique is that, unlike most other countries with aging populations, it has a predominately young population of working age. To train this so-called 'youth-bulge' for the work place is now paramount before an army of young, unemployed people starves the economy they are expected to feed.

MACEDONIA MAKEOVER - Macedonia's capital has undergone a radical facelift, which isn't pleasing everyone. Skopje is the birthplace of Alexander the Great, but he's not the only historical celebrity honored in the 21st century.

AUSTRALIA TURTLE - Australian conservationists are celebrating the successful reintroduction of a 100-year-old turtle into the wild. But wildlife workers and community members are concerned that the turtle population numbers are taking a dive.
