IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say an Iowa City toddler has recovered after eating an unknown prescription drug found outside his home in a mobile home park.
KCRG-TV (http://bit.ly/TsSvis ) says the 3-year-old boy was hospitalized last week after officials say he swallowed some type of prescription drug, possibly an anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication or a pain killer.
The boy's father thought his son had found illegal drugs in a nearby abandoned trailer and ingested them. He rushed the boy to the hospital.
Johnson County sheriff Detective Sgt. James Roberts says the boy found something in the yard or in the street and he ate it thinking it was candy. Roberts says the boy is doing fine.
