BOSTON (AP) — The powerful storm ravaging the East Coast is upending the final week of campaigning in Massachusetts' grueling U.S. Senate race.

Republican Sen. Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren both postponed any campaigning Monday and said their final debate should not happen as scheduled on Tuesday.

Brown said he was monitoring the storm, which was stripped of hurricane status but every bit as dangerous as it came ashore. Brown said he would work to make sure local communities receive any federal help needed.

Warren closed all her field offices for the day and canceled all public events. Warren asked her staff and volunteers to be ready to assist if needed.

The disruption comes as a new poll by The Boston Globe shows the race remains a virtual dead heat.
