MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. (AP) — A son of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy is not testifying at his New York child endangerment trial.

Douglas Kennedy's defense lawyers rested their case Friday morning without calling Kennedy. He also is charged with physical harassment.

The case stems from a January maternity floor scuffle at Northern Westchester Hospital.

Kennedy is accused of kicking one nurse and twisting the arm of another as they tried to prevent him from taking his newborn son, Anthony, outside.

The nurses claim Kennedy was violating hospital policy. But a doctor testified that Kennedy had permission to take the baby.

Kennedy is the 10th of 11 children of Robert and Ethel Kennedy. His father was assassinated in 1968.
