GEORGETOWN, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two police officers and a driver were hurt when their vehicles crashed head-on in southwest Ohio.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/S1tPdf ) reports the officers' car collided with a car attempting a left turn Friday on a highway near Georgetown, about 40 miles southeast of Cincinnati.

Officials say the officers' car caught fire, and a passer-by helped remove one officer, who was taken to a Cincinnati hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The second officer and the 70-year-old Russellville man who was driving the second car were sent to another hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
