KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (AP) — An infant girl who disappeared from her family's suburban Philadelphia apartment earlier this week has been found dead, and a family friend is charged in her death and her grandmother's killing.

Ten-month-old Saanvi Venna (SAHN'-vee VEHN'-ah) had been missing since Monday, the day her 61-year-old grandmother was found slain in the family's Upper Merion Township apartment.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman says Raghunandan Yandamuri planned to kidnap the girl and ransom her for $50,000.

Yandamuri is scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.

Ferman says the plan went awry when Yandamuri killed Satyavathi Venna (saht-yah-VAH'-thee VEHN'-ah) as she tried to stop him.

Ferman says Saanvi's body was found in the basement of a building in the apartment complex.
