LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — A Lafayette chiropractor has pleaded guilty to charges he billed a health insurer for services he didn't perform.
Federal prosecutors say Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana paid more than $176,000 in fraudulent claims submitted by 46-year-old Michael Keith Johnsey.
Johnsey, who owned and operated Acadiana Doctors of Chiropractic, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine following his guilty pleas last week.
His sentencing by U.S. District Judge Richard Haik is set for Jan. 17.
