Southwest Ohio malt products operation grows

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A plant that brews molasses has some sweet economic news for southwest Ohio.

Dayton officials say Malt Products Corp. plans a new $26 million brewing plant. A local official says expansion with the new plant could mean 30 to 50 new jobs. The company has some 200 local employees now.

The Saddle Brook, N.J.-based company makes natural sweeteners and food products.

The Dayton Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/PClqkH ) construction could begin in the spring. Dayton economic development officials have been working with the company on project planning.
