NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — A North Platte assisted living facility has been placed on probation by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for dozens of violations.
The North Platte Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/TGhjQc) that an agency inspector last month informed the Hotel Pawnee that he had confirmed most of 35 violations identified in May.
The violations included not having enough certified staff at the facility, allowing uncertified employees to administering medications, unsafe food preparation and an improperly maintained building.
The facility will have one year to comply with state regulations, is required to hire a consultant and will undergo increased monitoring.
Facility manager Sandra Schade said Saturday that Hotel Pawnee expects to remedy the violations, but could use volunteer help from the community.
