NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Four sailors aboard the USS Harry S. Truman have been injured off the coast of Florida while their aircraft carrier was undergoing a refueling at sea.
The Navy says the injuries happened Tuesday when a line parted between the Truman and the replenishment oiler USNS Patuxent. The Navy says none of the injuries are life threatening.
Two of the injured sailors were flown to Jacksonville, Fla., where they'll receive treatment at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. One sailor was scheduled to be flown to Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia for further evaluation. The fourth sailor was treated aboard the Truman.
The Navy says a safety investigation into the incident has begun.
