Grant to help with nursing school expenses

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The School of Nursing at the LSU Health Sciences Center has been awarded a $700,000 federal grant over two years to help students pursuing advanced practice primary care nursing degrees meet educational expenses.

The grant was awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services The money can be used for tuition, books fees, and reasonable living expenses.

Full-time students in the primary care family nurse practitioner program may receive up to $22,000, and part-time students up to $11,000.
