BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — With Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney expected to easily win Louisiana on Nov. 6, Democrats who support President Barack Obama are being asked to help campaign for the president's re-election in the battleground state of Ohio.

The Louisiana Democratic Party sent an email to supporters this week, asking them to consider helping with get-out-the-vote efforts in Ohio from Nov. 2 until Election Day.

Volunteers who head to Ohio will be knocking on doors and making phone calls to encourage people to vote for Obama. The email put out by the state Democratic Party says the Obama campaign will cover some of the travel costs.

Earlier this week, the Republican Party of Louisiana sent out a similar email to its supporters, urging them to consider helping campaign for Romney in Florida.
