COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A 15-year-old girl has suffered a head wound after being shot by someone who fired into a crowd of students from Walnut Ridge High School.

Police said Thursday the girl is in stable condition at a hospital, where she is being kept for observation.

Two groups of teens became involved in an argument around 2:45 p.m. near the high school and police say someone pulled out a handgun and fired several times into the crowd. The girl was struck once.

An investigation is continuing.
