HOPEDALE, Ohio (AP) — Two men have been rescued from an eastern Ohio coal mine where a roof collapsed and trapped them for nine hours.

Officials at the Hopedale Mine said the miners were bolting the roof Wednesday morning when it collapsed, trapping them inside the mine. The roof had to be stabilized before they could be rescued. The men were shaken but not seriously injured.

WTOV-TV (http://bit.ly/QZ17L8 ) reports that the Mine Safety and Health Administration is investigating.

Hopedale is about 140 miles east of Columbus, near the Ohio-West Virginia line.
