DRACUT, Mass. (AP) — School officials say a Dracut student has been diagnosed with viral meningitis.

Parents of students at Dracut High School and Lakeview Junior High School received automated calls Wednesday informing them of the situation. The schools share a campus.

Superintendent Steven Stone tells The Sun of Lowell (http://bit.ly/RioqSi ) he cannot provide additional information about the sick student.

The student's viral meningitis is not thought to be related to the nationwide outbreak of fungal meningitis blamed for 12 deaths and tied to a Framingham pharmacy.
