CANTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio TV station reports that around 40 people gathered for an impromptu rally at a bus stop where they say a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy had been mocked.
Participants at the rally in Canton told WJW-TV (http://bit.ly/W0lISr ) that they want bullying to stop. They applauded when Hope Holcomb got off the bus Tuesday.
Those who came said they were upset when they saw a cellphone video of an adult neighbor and his son appearing to mock the way Hope walks. The man has denied that they were mocking the girl.
Hope says she was a bit overwhelmed by Tuesday's crowd but thankful. Her parents say all the attention to the case is making a difference.
A local radio station helped organize the rally.
