TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Officials say a Passaic County woman is the third person to die of the West Nile virus in New Jersey this year.

Officials have not released the 75-year-old's name.

Two others have died in Ocean and Burlington counties.

The Health Department says 40 cases of the mosquito-borne illness have been reported. Every county has at least one.

Health officials say in most cases, West Nile leads to flu-like symptoms.
