Sandusky arrives at Pa. courthouse for sentencing

Tuesday October 9, 2012 9:30 AM

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has arrived at a central Pennsylvania courthouse for his sentencing on child sex abuse charges.

A smiling Sandusky, accompanied by sheriff's deputies, showed up wearing a red prison jumpsuit, white sneakers and holding a manila envelope. His attorney and his wife, Dottie, also have arrived.

Sandusky and at least some of his victims plan to address the judge. The 68-year-old Sandusky faces the likelihood of a sentence that will send him to state prison for the rest of his life.

Sandusky was convicted in June of abusing 10 boys over 15 years, including some attacks inside Penn State athletic facilities.

On Monday, Sandusky said he was innocent and vowed to keep fighting in a recorded statement broadcast by a student-run radio station at Penn State.
