Meningitis cases in Md. up to 8

BALTIMORE (AP) — Maryland health officials say three more residents have developed meningitis after receiving a steroid injection, bringing the total people who became ill in the state to eight. One person has died.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene announced Tuesday that it had confirmed three more cases.

About 105 cases have been reported throughout the country, including nine deaths.
