EHD found in eastern Wyoming cow

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A viral disease that usually affects deer has shown up in a cow in eastern Wyoming.

The Wyoming Livestock Board says the affected cow is now recovering from Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease.

EHD is spread by insects often located near water sources.

Cases in cattle also have been found in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Colorado within the past few months.

The Wyoming Livestock Board advises producers to call their veterinarian if they suspect signs of the disease in their herds.
