PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten (AP) — Authorities in St. Maarten have arrested a third suspect in the slaying of a South Carolina couple found stabbed to death in their beachfront apartment last month.

Public Prosecutor Hans Mos said Friday that the 20-year-old suspect had flown out of the Dutch Caribbean territory this week to the U.S. Virgin Islands. He said the suspect was extradited to St. Maarten with the help of U.S. authorities.

The suspect is identified only by his initials, J.J.W., and is expected to appear in court Monday.

Authorities previously arrested a Jamaican security guard and a 17-year-old in the slaying of Michael and Thelma King of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Friends say that the Kings were part-time residents of St. Maarten and that Michael King was planning to start a rum business there.
