NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. (AP) — Prosecutors have accused a New Jersey man of using a dead dentist's name and license to practice dentistry at four locations.

Roben Brookhim of Short Hills is held on $75,000 bail, charged with unlicensed practice of dentistry, identity theft and heath care claims fraud.

Authorities allege Brookhim used the license of Dr. James Kirkland Jr., who died in 2011. Brookhim was working at Associated Dental offices in New Providence, West Orange, Springfield and West New York.

Brookhim's dental license was revoked in 2004 following allegations that he performed treatments and billed insurers while suspended.

Authorities are investigating the relationship between Brookhim, the dead dentist and the owners of the dental offices.

It's not clear whether Brookhim has hired a lawyer.
