Contest seeks West Michigan's ugliest website

KENTWOOD, Mich. (AP) — A contest this month is trying to find West Michigan's ugliest website.

MLive.com reports (http://bit.ly/QJctRW ) Jon Vanden Berg of Kentwood-based Spyder Consultants is seeking nominations. The winner will get a website redesign worth $1,500.

Vanden Berg says a bad mix of colors, cookie-cutter design and outdated features are factors in making a website a contender for the distinction.

Websites may be nominated by the owners of West Michigan businesses as well as others who just don't like those sites. The entry deadline is Oct. 21. Winners will be selected through a combination of a panel and a public vote, and a winner is expected to be announced at the end of the month.

Contest details are posted online.
