BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos says he has prostate cancer. He says it was caught early and he'll have a tumor surgically removed on Wednesday.

The 61-year-old Santos told reporters Monday in announcing the cancer that his prognosis is for a 97 percent chance of recovery. He says it is not an aggressive cancer.

Santos said he planned to fly to Lima, Peru for a summit of South American and Arab leaders and then be operated on later in Bogota.
