TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Tulsa nursing home that spent a two-year legal battle against state and federal regulators has moved all its patients to different facilities and plans to sell the home.
Patty Scott in the state Health Department's long-term care inspections division told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/R2nxu9 ) that paperwork is pending for a change of ownership for Woodland View Care and Rehabilitation Center.
The closure is part of an agreement between the home's parent company, Sun Healthcare Group Inc., and federal regulators to settle a federal lawsuit filed by the company.
A federal judge dismissed the lawsuit and Woodland View appealed. The sale agreement ends that appeal.
Records show state inspectors cited Woodland View with more than 40 violations during inspections in 2010 and 2011, including failure to protect residents from abuse.
