HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Two weeks before former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky is due for sentencing, the Penn State administrators who looked into complaints about his behavior a decade ago are getting some bad news about their own criminal case.
A judge in Harrisburg on Wednesday issued a ruling that keeps in place felony perjury charges against Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, the school officials facing trial in January.
The defendants are still awaiting a ruling from a Dauphin County judge on whether to throw out the other charge they face, failure to report suspected child abuse. Curley is the school's athletic director on leave. Schultz is retired as vice president.
Sandusky is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 9 on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. He maintains his innocence.
