COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Medical marijuana cards for people with post-traumatic stress disorder appear unlikely in Colorado, and some veterans are planning to protest the snub from state health officials.
A group of veterans was planning to rally Thursday in Colorado Springs. They say that because PTSD won't qualify for marijuana cards, the state should adopt legalization for all on the November ballot.
Brian Vicente of the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol says a "Veterans for 64" group is being formed to back the marijuana ballot measure, called Amendment 64.
The group is being established in response to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's second denial of a petition to add PTSD to the list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana.
