COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a Columbus woman was killed when her car struck a tree.
Authorities said 36-year-old Karie M. Evans was traveling northwest on Corr Road near Parsons Avenue at about 4 a.m. Sunday when she traveled off the righthand side of the roadway, swerved back onto the road, then off the lefthand side into a tree. Authorities said alcohol is suspected as a factor.
Evans was pronounced dead at the scene. It was the city's 45th traffic related fatality of the year.
