VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — The University of South Dakota's health science and medical schools on Friday will host a service to honor those who donated their bodies to medicine.

The eighth annual memorial service honors family members by recognizing the contribution of their loved ones who gave to the study of medicine.

Faculty, staff and students from the medical, physician assistant, occupational therapy and physical therapy programs will share testimonials and thank to family members in attendance.

The service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the atrium of the Andrew E. Lee Memorial Medical and Science Building.

Event coordinator Carleen McNeely says the service provides an opportunity for donors' families to know that their loved one was treated with care and respect.
