BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Officials say a federal grand jury has indicted the suspect believed to be behind the bomb threat that led to the evacuation of the LSU campus earlier this week.
U.S. Attorney Don Cazayoux said Thursday that 42-year-old William Bouvay is charged with one count of willfully conveying false information concerning the attempt to destroy property by means of explosives.
If convicted, the Baton Rouge resident faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.
Bouvay also faces a state charge of communicating false information of a planned bombing. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
Bouvay was arrested Tuesday night. Authorities say he has admitted to calling 911 Monday to say he had placed multiple bombs on the campus.
