BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Officials say a bomb threat has forced the evacuation of the Greater Baton Rouge Metro Airport terminal.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/Qq2FfA) that authorities received a call at about 4:30 p.m. from someone who indicated a bomb was at the facility.
Airport assistant director Ralph Hennessy says the terminal and parking garage were evacuated and that a perimeter was set up around the airport to keep people out of the facility.
He said passengers on a plane that landed just before the bomb threat were waiting on the aircraft.
Hennessy says outbound flights have been canceled or delayed and individual airlines will decide whether to fly into Baton Rouge. Incoming planes will not be able to pull into the airport's terminals until everything is clear.
