CLEVELAND (AP) — An $18.5 million upgrade is planned at a commuter rail station in Cleveland's University Circle education and museum district.

The upgrade will improve links between buses and a commuter train route that reaches Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

The project kicked off Wednesday with a groundbreaking with participants from area institutions, which include the Cleveland Museum of Art and Case Western Reserve University. It will take two years to complete.

Case President Barbara Snyder tells The Plain Dealer (http://bit.ly/PKugrd ) that the upgrade will improve safety and attract more riders.
