LOS ANGELES (AP) — Attorneys say a chef won't take the stand in his own defense in a trial where he's accused of killing his wife and then cooking her body for four days in boiling water to get rid of the evidence.
The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/S6EQOz) the prosecution concluded their arguments Wednesday in the case against David Viens, which included letting the jury hear two tapes of his interrogations.
In one tape, Viens told authorities the couple had done cocaine the night of 39-year-old Dawn Viens' death and he taped her mouth and bound her hands and feet before going to sleep, only to wake up and find her dead.
City News Service reports in opening statements, David Viens' defense says he took Ambien before he bound his wife.
