Funeral is set for Ohio officer killed in crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Police Department has announced funeral services for an off-duty officer who died after her vehicle collided head-on with an ambulance.

A funeral for 53-year-old Marcia Frederick will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church in Galloway. Calling hours are from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rader-McDonald Funeral Home in West Jefferson.

The State Highway Patrol says Frederick's SUV struck a Jefferson Township Medic Squad vehicle shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 142. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Madison County. Two medics in the ambulance were injured and taken to a hospital. Two people inside the ambulance who were being transported for treatment were also taken to a hospital.
