CINCINNATI (AP) — A man accused of robbing a cab driver and locking him in the cab's trunk for about 10 hours has been indicted on kidnapping and other charges in southwest Ohio.
The Hamilton County prosecutor says a grand jury on Tuesday indicted 30-year-old Charles Black, of Cincinnati, on charges that also include aggravated robbery, robbery and felonious assault.
Authorities say Mulugeta Shiferaw picked up Black in his cab on Sept. 8. They say Black at some point attacked Shiferaw, robbed him and locked him in the trunk. The prosecutor says Shiferaw is expected to be permanently disabled from his injuries.
Police spotted the missing cab and arrested Black after a 24-minute chase. They found the injured driver in the trunk.
A call to Black's attorney was not immediately returned Tuesday.
