LORAIN, Ohio (AP) — Police say a man who fired at them from a house has been killed in northeast Ohio.
A Lorain County SWAT unit returned fire early Saturday, and police say the man inside the house was fatally shot. Police say he had fired at sheriff's deputies from his front porch, then fired again from inside the house when the unit arrived.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer (http://bit.ly/UWy10O ) reports that deputies responded to a 911 call from the home in Sheffield Township at 1:30 a.m. Police say deputies evacuated a woman and children from home before the SWAT unit arrived.
No police injuries were reported. The man's name or other information wasn't released immediately.
