MONTEREY, Calif. (AP) — A Naval Postgraduate School professor and financial expert has been arrested in connection with the death of his ex-wife, whose body was found in California last week.

The Monterey County Herald (http://bit.ly/Ps4DLI ) reports that 69-year-old Lawrence Jones was arrested late Thursday in Los Angeles after investigators searched his Monterey home and determined his ex-wife had been killed there. Her body was found near Gilroy.

The couple recently divorced after about five years of marriage.

Monterey police say the arrest came after authorities identified the body of 29-year-old Norife Herrera Jones.

San Benito County Sheriff's officials say Lawrence Jones is the primary suspect and authorities are working to bring him back to Monterey.

Jones has taught for about 25 years at the school, which matriculates mostly U.S. service members.
