Former deputy taken into custody after shots fired

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A former Franklin County Sheriff's deputy has been taken into custody after authorities say he fired multiple shots into the air.

Investigators say the man was intoxicated when he fired the shots Thursday night in Columbus.

They say he resigned from the Franklin County Sheriff's office last week.

There were no reports of any injuries.

According to WBNS-TV (http://bit.ly/OmqS4O), authorities did not immediately release the man's name.
