WARREN, Ohio (AP) — The trial has been delayed for an ex-convict from northeastern Ohio charged with strangling his mother and bludgeoning and shooting his father to death.
The (Youngstown) Vindicator (http://bit.ly/SKgMlX ) reports that Louis Mann's trial was delayed a year to give both sides more time to prepare. It had been scheduled to start Oct. 12.
The 32-year-old Mann could face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder in the deaths of his 59-year-old father, Philip Mann, and 53-year-old mother, Frances Mann, in Warren.
Authorities say she was strangled with a clothesline and the father was beaten with a heavy flashlight and shot during an argument over a grandchild in October.
Mann had previously been convicted of burglary and receiving stolen property.
