YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man convicted of punching a female police officer in the face has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The (Youngstown) Vindicator (http://bit.ly/QlylmN ) reports that 36-year-old Shawn Green was convicted of knocking down Youngstown Officer Bridget Quinn with a blow to the face at a bar earlier this year. A judge sentenced him Wednesday.

Prosecutor Jennifer McLaughlin recommended the stiff sentence because of Green's criminal record and what she described as a total lack of respect for law enforcement. He'd been arrested in the past for carrying concealed weapons and drug possession.
