BEACHWOOD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say 20 people were able to escape a house fire in northeastern Ohio.

WEWS-TV (http://bit.ly/Sf3ebx ) said it happened just after 11 p.m. Wednesday in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood.

Firefighters said a resident of the home went upstairs, opened a bedroom door and found the room full of flames. By the time firefighters from four agencies responded, flames were shooting through the roof.

All 20 people at the home were able to get out without injury. That included a special-needs child who was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Firefighters don't know if all 20 people were living there or if there was some type of gathering there when the fire broke out.

The cause is under investigation.
