HOUSTON (AP) — Health officials say a woman exposed to a trash-filled Houston-area home who had a positive result for the deadly rodent-borne hantavirus in an initial test has now tested negative for the infection.
Dr. Mark Escott, deputy for Montgomery County's health authority, said Monday that samples from the woman who authorities previously said had a chance of infection and two others who were exposed to the home in The Woodlands had negative results for hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.
The Houston Chronicle (http://bit.ly/SAdJg2 ) reports the quarantine for the home was lifted Monday after the results came back.
The house had been under quarantine after the woman helping clean the home for the TLC television show "Hoarding: Buried Alive" developed a respiratory illness. Production crews came to the house on Aug. 28.
