MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — A northeastern Ohio man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for driving the wrong way on an interstate highway and causing a crash that killed another motorist.

A Medina County common pleas judge sentenced 23-year-old Justen Russell Monday after he pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and felonious assault.

Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/QazMXy ) reports that Russell had been indicted on a murder charge that was dropped as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Russell was driving on Interstate 76 at a high speed and without headlights when he hit another car head-on Jan. 23 in Wadsworth. The crash killed 57-year-old Robert Merold. Two others were injured.
