PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A golf course on the border of Providence and Johnston is announcing plans to make itself a model for fully inclusive golf with new services for people who are physically disabled.
Rep. Jim Langevin (LAN'-juh-vin) will be on hand Monday as officials from Button Hole, the National Alliance for Accessible Golf, and others, announce the plan.
The national group has given Button Hole a $9,500 grant to help the course pay for adaptive golf clubs and bags, and on-course "fun days" for the physically disabled.
Button Hole is a nonprofit aimed at teaching golf to children.
