3 Ohio hospitals looking at doctor named in suit

CLEVELAND (AP) — Three northeast Ohio hospitals now are looking at whether a cardiologist has performed unneeded heart procedures.

This comes after a Cleveland man sued the doctor and a hospital over allegations that a stent was unnecessarily implanted in his heart.

The Plain Dealer newspaper (bit.ly/RjRold) reports that Fairview Hospital in Cleveland is contacting patients who saw the doctor for similar procedures.

Southwest General Health Center and St. John Medical Center also are investigating.

All three hospitals have set up phone lines for patients to call with questions.
