GLENDORA, Calif. (AP) — A fire burning in the Angeles National Forest near Los Angeles is only 5 percent contained and because of rugged terrain and weather it may take a week to get to 100 percent.
The cause of the fire that started Sunday afternoon in the San Gabriel Mountains, spoiling holiday hiking and camping plans for thousands, has not been determined.
No structures have burned and although four injuries have been reported, no one has been hospitalized.
Officials say the fire has burned 3,600 acres, or about 5 1/2 square miles.
An update is expected after daybreak.
