Monday September 3, 2012 5:45 AM

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Hoosiers can find out more about how agencies respond to trauma at a session this week sponsored by the Indiana State Department of Health.

The Trauma Listening Session will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Garrison Conference Center at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis.

The open house will feature information about trauma and gather personal stories about how trauma has affected people.

Traumatic injury is the No. 1 killer of people under age 45. Motor vehicle accidents are the No. 1 killer of Indiana residents ages 5 to 24.

The state health agency says the meeting is aimed at advancing public interest in a statewide system of trauma centers.
