REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) — Rehoboth Beach police say two people have been bitten by a rabid fox.

Police got two calls for bites on Tuesday in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers found the animal, which was behaving aggressively, and shot and killed it.

The News Journal of Wilmington (http://delonline.us/TAwACB) reports that the two bite victims were treated and released at Beebe Hospital.

After the fox tested positive for rabies, the Department of Health contacted the two victims.

Police are cautioning residents never to approach animals behaving in a strange or aggressive manner.
